GroupUp.net was founded on the principle that while there are many big brand sites for forming online groups, most are overly complicated and not focused on what's truly important to a group. Our tools can be used to create anything from a simple landing page for capturing e-mail addresses, to a group website with features including video and picture galleries, event calendars and a document archive. Since personal pages can be similarly populated, your group will organically gain content and interest as members round out their profiles.

Creating a Personal Profile and Starting or Joining a Group(s)
To build a group page start by creating a full personal profile and then click "Create a group". If you wish to join a group, build out your full profile and go to the group and click "Join this group." Your profile will otherwise be invisible unless you join or start a group.

Administration of the Group Page and Communications
As the starter of the group page you become the group's lead administrator and have access to the administration area to build and edit the group's content. You can also nominate co-administrators to do the same. If you wish to nominate someone as a co-administrator, simply click the star next to their name in the group list. This approach ensures that as the administrator(s) you can filter group communication. Individuals may contact one another through GroupUp.net's private member to member e-mail, but if individuals have group announcements, they would send a request to distribute to an administrator. This method solves the problem that often plagues wide open communication in other groups--too many e-mails from over zealous members.
